Thurisaz - Circadian Rhythm

review by Rick Hawkins exclusively for BRUTALISM.com

WOW!!! This is an incrediable release. I have mentioned in other reviews that I am not the biggest "Black Metal" fan. For me that genere along with everyother one has been Beaten, Broken, and Butchered, over and over and over again. But every now and again there comes and group that produces something so special that you can not catagorize it. Now maybe Thurisaz is a black metal band lyricly and otherwise. Despite that, Circadian Rhythm is not an album you can just catagorize into a subgenere of music. It has an atmospheric indenty all its own that is so captivating you cant help but listen. Mid paced guitars and drums are a welcomed change to the 1000 mile an hour blast beats and guitar rythms that come with alot of dark music nowadays. This Belgium quintet have forged 9 songs from there souls that will catapault them to there desired destination in there musical carrier. Buy this release..PERIOD! For fans of Novembers Doom, even Lacuna Coil, and one of my personal favorites and friends...Vespirian Sorrow.
