Blood
BLOOD was formed in March 1986 as a fun-noise Band. We recorded 3 Demos during this noisy time. In June 1987 VENTILATOR joined BLOOD and the songs got more structure and the music became serious. The 4th Demo ’HEINOUS NOISE’ was recorded in Oct.1987, the 5th Demo ’SPASMO PARALYTIC DREAMS’ in Feb.1988 and the 6th Demo ’NO REGRET’ in Aug. 1988. At the beginning of 1989 we got our first record-deal with the US-Label ’WILD RAGS RECORDS’ the release of our debut LP ’IMPULSE TO DESTROY’ was in July 1989. One year later WILD RAGS released our first EP, ’RECOGNIZE YOURSELF’. After that we finished our cooperation with the label, ’cause the totally ripped us off. In Dec. 1990 we recorded 5 new songs, who were released on two different split EP’s (one with IMPETIGO and the other with AGATHOCLES). those EP’s were self-releases. In 1992 we got another record deal with the german label ’1MF-RECORDz’ for the next 2 BLOOD Albums. The second Album was called ’CHRISTBAIT’ released in June 1992 and the 3rd LP ’O AGIOS PETHANE’ released in Sep. 1993. After that release we signed a deal with ’MORBID RECORDS’. In August 1994 they’ve done our split EP with DEAD INFECTION and the re-release of the 1st BLOOD Album on CD. One month later we recorded our 4th Album ’MENTAL CONFLICT’ released in Dec.1994. In Sep.1995 we’ve done another EP called ’SPITTLE RED OF BLOOD’. In April/May 1996 we recorded our 5th Album to be released in August 1996 as a self release (called `DEPRAVED GODDESS`’). The newest release is the split EP BLOOD/MYSTIC CIRCLE out since May 97. In December 97 the split EP with PSYCHO (USA) is released on AX/TION records,USA. After that we did another self release - the BLOOD/INHUME split EP, which is released since may 98. Than, we signed a contract at ARS METALLI records for the 6th full BLOOD album called `gas flames bones` released since August 99. End of 2000 we did the Blood/Warspite split EP, released by the guys of Warspite. Later in early 2001 the full BLOOD 7” massacre saw the daylight - released by Ketzer Produtions. For the end of 2002 we plan the release of our 7th Album on Morbid Records. We played over 100 live shows with Bands as: DISMEMBER, ATROCITY, GOREFEST, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, HOLY MOSES, FEAR OF GOD, MESSIAH, VADER, AGATHOCLES, SAMAEL and lots of other undergroundbands.
BLOOD is a mixture of DEATH METAL and GRINDCORE.

Please give us a short introduction of yourself?
Blood is around since 1986! in our early days we only did noise for fun - nothing serious. There was me (Eisen), Taki and 2 other members (Geier - vocals and Radtke - drums). We recorded 3 Demos with this line up and then everything changed... Radtke was replaced by Ventilator in 1987 and our songs got more structures. Everything became serious. We recorded another 3 Demos with different singers. Then we found Martin (Chicken) who was in Blood for a longer period. We got the deal of Wild Rags records USA for our debut LP in 1989. With this release we reached some more fans than with our demos before. With the second CD ’Christbait’ we reached another big number of fans. I know, we are not so popular, as we could have been, but BLOOD is always only a hobby for us. We have lots of other things to do besides the band, we have all our jobs and some of us have their own family, so things are not as easy for us.
So why did you choose the bandname Blood? Does it stand for something? Still happy with the name nowadays?
As we started we were looking for a short name, that is easy to remember, so our first singer (Geier) found the name Blood, and so we are Blood and we still love it. l`ve heard of a few other bands with this name over the years, but I think they all splitted up.
And where does the band stand for? Why is Blood a band? What goal do you wanna reach?
BLOOD stands for the Underground. We are still a part of the undergroundscene, and always was it! We are glad with this, so lt`s OK for us. We still release vinyls. We have reached many goals in our carreer, so now we hope to stay together for a few more years, playing some cool shows and releasing some fucking shit - that`s all.
Describe your music to someone who never heard you before? And the commercial words to get your disc sold?
BLOOD is a unique mixture of Death Metal with Grindcore - elements. We play nearly always short and fast songs as a fist in your face.
Can you also write some oral sounds that comes close to the music? Compare the band to an animal. Which one and why?
Röööööööööööööääääääääääääär - I think a mixture of Lion and Dinosaur. We roar like a lion and take you as a meal for lunch... and we have the duration of an dinosaur. Nothing will kill us.
A lot of songs on the disc with short duration of time. Why is this? Easy for gigs? No condition to blast 5 minutes?
Joking... we were always into short songs with only a very few riffings. I must say, that long songs are total boring in my opinion. No problems to grind for over 5 minutes or so (in our age we need more breaks live - hehe).
What do you do to keep in shape and condition? Any fav sport, meal, drink?
I play some football, Taki is in the fitness - studio. But we eat nothing special. We don`t care for all this shit. We live like we want.
How big is the beer consumption of the band? Any difference between working days and after a gig?
We drink our 1 or 2 beer every day, but we don`t drink that much before a show. Thats not good for condition. After a show it`s equal. We drink til death!!
Name some fav brands of beer? Any Dutch ones? Try to brew it yourself?
I like many different types of beer... König, Bitburger, Becks, Lord, Jever.... sorry, I don`t know any dutch beer... nono - we won`t brew our own beer - if I’m thirsty it`ll take too long if I can drink it - haha
Why do you write the internet site and email with a triple o?
We were a bit late with our Website and internet presentation, so everything named ’blood’ was already token by other persons. So we took blood with triple ’o’ what is a bit funny and also OK for us.
What drove you into the metal music? And is the fun of the metal scene?
In my younger years, as I was in school, I always loved music that is away from the radio. lt was a special feeling for me listen to bands as Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Black Sabbath... much more than ordinary Pop-shit. Later I turned into a more heavy was(Speed/Thrash/Deathmetal). And later I was into all different weird and brutal styles as grindcore, Hardcore, brutal Death Metal, Black Metal...
Do you work together with other german bands? Helping eachother with gigs etc?
Not that much anymore. We have tons of other things to do in our sparetime besides the band, we have our jobs and our families. We are still in contact an friendship with some german bands... as Nyctophobic, Harmony Dies, Kadath, Necrophagist, Sanitys Dawn, lmmured and others. We respect each other and it`s always very funny, when we meet.
Why does Taki paint his face on stage? Or does he has it in daily life too? And with what kind of stuff is it?
We all paint our faces live on stage. lt`s much more interesting for the crowd. We always try to give them more, than only playing our songs... blood fire death...
Do you support aggression in the pit? What do you do when there is a riot during your show?
We would stop playing I think, but there was never a real fight or riot during our show. Metal fans are not as evil and brutal, as they look!
What does attract you in german girls? What are their pros?
As in every country in the world also in germany there are lots of pretty girls and also lots of ugly ones. I can`t speak for all german girls. Hehe - I love most of em...
Mention some more items of Germany that makes it worth living there?
The famous beer is one of the major things... That all things are close together - if you need something special, there is no problem to get it. I like the landscape and sometimes the weather. OK, not everything is like in paradise here... we have also financial problems, like in the whole world - and many workless people, but all in all I must say we are on the better side of the world.
What is your fav country to go on holiday? Why? And to what country will you never go? Why that?
My fave country for holidays is Italy. I was there only 2 times and it was very very good. I love the people, the weather and the food... also the USA, Australia or Canada seems to be interested for me!!! I’d never travel to a country of war... as Iraq, Afghanistan, Colombia...
