Hell-Born is born in hell

interview with hell-born polish death metal

The band was brought forth back in the 1996 by Baal and Les- musicians involved with BEHEMOTH and DAMNATION at the time. Their pure, immediate and original music gained quickly Pagan Records interest. The band attacked with a debut mini-album and then disappeared and became deathlike silent….

In the middle of the year 2000 Les and Baal decide to open the Gates of Hell again. Jeff (a figure familiar to DAMNATION’s devoted fans) joins the band on bass and vocals. After a few months of intense rehersals Hell-Born enters the Hertz Studio in Bialystok. With five brand new blasphemous hymns recorded, the band gets involved with the band’s debut mini. Bonded with the title “Hellblast” the new Hell-Born creation starts to proclaim the glory of the Horned Majesty.

“Hellblast’” is releases by Conquer Records on CD format with 12 page book and the Vinyl version will be available later on year 2001.

On the middle of April 2001 Frost (ex-member of BEHEMOTH & HEFEYSTOS) join Hell-Born and band is ready to do European Tour which will start on the middle of October 2001.

interview with Baal Ravenlock on 2-8-2001

Please give us a short introduction of yourself?
Hail! I’m 25 years old and I live in Gdansk, Poland. Enought? If not I can say I’m 193 cm tall with 100 kg weight. And I love Satan!

Why do you love Satan? And how do you imagine him in what kind of form?
And why do you love your father? I don’t have to imagine the lord of this world. I can see him each time i want to. And looks too gruesome to write about it.

Did you wish you were born in hell?
I don’t think it’s a matter of wish – I was born in hell!

Do you think there is a heaven or hell?
Yes of course. I think both hell and heaven exist. And I’m looking forward to strike upon my enemies on the fields of Armageddon. I’ll prouldly be one of the countless swords of Satan!

Who are your enemies and why do you wanna fight them?
I want to fight everyone who tries to force me to do things I don’t want to do. I want to fight the people who consider themselves better than me because of being part of a catholic church and shit like that. I want to fight the bastards who make me feel like some kind of weird, antisocial animal in a free, democratic country.

If you kill your enemies in heaven/hell, where will the dead bodies go to?
What are you trying to do? Wanna make jokes out of my beliefs? I will tell you what happens to someone who get’s killed – the body turns to dust and that’s all to remain. Dust. Only death is real. Death shows us what we are. Dust. Worm food.

Why did God create a appletree if Adam/Eve were not allowed to eat them?
Because god is a motherfuckin’ sadist! He does things like that all the time.

Do you live according the satanic rites?
I don’t know what exactly you want to hear but I can tell you that I follow the left hand path with the very depths of my heart and soul since almost 10 years. I’m not into animal and child sacrifices, church burning, cementary desecration and other shit like this. I’m into making myself better than the human waste surronding me. I’m into being a thorn in the hearts of my enemies and I know that I live a life of a son of the morning star!

A lot have a wrong impression of satanism. Do you try to convince them what it really is?
No. First of all it’s no use in doing it. And i don’t feel like a satanic preacher to spread my religion. It’s mine. I don’t have to share it with anyone or convince some shitheads the things i follow are right and others are not.

Did you ever played other kind of music?
You know sometimes at rehersals we did some coversongs of non-metal bands, but it was just for fun. Metal fills my soul and it will last forever within me.

What kind of non-metal songs did you rehearse? Were they played in a BM style? Ever plans to record them for real?
I don’t remember man, it was long ago. We did some punk rock songs, rock classics. Etc. We never planned to record anyone of them.

Do you find your lyrics important?
Lyrics are the most important thing in my music. All the instruments create a background for our message to spread – together with the music my lyrics are more accessible to the people-they got the power, the strenght they need to get into the minds of the people I’m writing them for.

Any heroes in your life besides your mother?
My mother certainly isn’t a hero for me. She is a very important person, I got a lot of respect for her but she is not a hero. I’m still working on making my own hero out of myself!

For who do you want to be a hero? And why?
I want to be a hero for my own self. Why? Because i think it’s cool to be a hero!

What kind of job do you have?
I’m working with plaster mouldings.

Which album will you protect with your life?
Music is a sacred thing for me, but as for a satanist my life is the most precious thing. I wouldn’t risk it for a piece of plastic with some tunes recorded on it.

Any interest in sport, literature, sex?
All the items mentioned are forms of art. I’m interested in all kinds of art. All types of activity which can make me better become an object of my interest.

Plans to raise a family if not already?
I’ve got such plans…

Will your family live according your rules? Any change of marry a christian lady?
I don’t have this kind of problem with women. I’m involved with the one I want to and I will never try to force her to follow any kind of rules. That’s what the christian bastards did to the pagans. I can only be happy that my girlfriend is totaly anti-christian.

Do you contribute money to Greenpeace?
No. I’m not rich enough for that.

Where do you get musical inspiration from?
I get it from the Gods of the generation – great bands who created the masterpieces I’ve been raised on.

Do you ever attend a musical in a theatre?
No and I don’t think I ever will. Life shows are quite enough.

How often do you wash your hair? And use a blow-drier afterwards?
I don’t think it’s important but if someone can get wise knowing it I can answer this ridiculous question – I do it mostly twice a week. I never use a drier – it destroys the hair.

Do you think long hair is sign of strength? Like Samson?
What? What kind bullshit is this? Long hair is for headbanging, nothing more. It’s part of the metal imaginery. By the way I know dozens of people who have long hair and they are weak like babies! Muscle are the sign of strenght.

A good reason to buy Hellblast?
It’s a good album.

Last rites?
Thanx for support man. I’d like to greet all Hell-Born fans – sorry for being silent so long! Everything will change on from now. We hope to see you on tour this year and we will soon blast your brain off with a full-lenght release. Bang your heads in the name of Satan! Real Metal never fuckin’ dies!!!
