Human Mincer is doing aberrant death metal

Do you think that the leave and arrive of various members to the band during the last years has changed your music or do you think that “Degradation paradox” is the product of the natural evolution of the band?
Regards!!! First of all, thanks for doing this interview!!!
Well, in fact our new album is the result of the work that we did since thirteen years. David (drummer) and I (guitar) stayed in the band since the beginning and we are the authors of the songs and we are working very hard during these days to take the band to the actual position. I made the composition of “Degradation paradox” at 100%, but the new members (Guillemoth and Phlegeton) made some changes and bring new ideas to make some riffs or songs.

You were signed by Brutal Bands, leaving Xtreem Music, what’s about this change of label?
Basically, we signed with Xtreem Music in 2001 and we finished the contract with them. Then, we were thinking about the possibility to sign with a label out of Spain to try the band in this way. We sent a lot of promos to European, Japan and North American labels and we received various and good offers, choosing the best of them, Brutal Bands.

Brutal Bands is one of the labels that actually signs a lot of bands that plays extreme music, how is work with them? Do you think that labels like Brutal Bands, Sevared Records or Lacerated Enemy will change in a near future like Earache or Nuclear Blast, open their doors to bands that play other kind of music?
We are very happy with the work of Brutal Bands. They make a great international promotion that only some labels do, sending stuff of their bands all around the world to the fanzines, music web pages, radios and many more. The feeling with the bands is incredible, seeking the best for the interest of both parts (bands and the label) offering tours across USA and Europe with big bands.

Personally, I think that labels like Brutal Bands will not change to be a big company searching bands to make money with the music of the moment like Taracee and the return of the Thrash Metal of 90’s. In fact, labels like Brutal Bands stay in the underground to keep the extreme scene alive with good music with cheap prices, some ignorant people think that they make a lot of money with this business but they are wrong.

Sometimes it’s hard to work with two bands at the same time. How is work and play with HUMAN MINCER and WORMED?
In fact, we are working with both bands without problem, but sometimes it’s hard because it takes too many time and we don’t have enough time to compose music and have fun playing during the essay. We have some days to play the songs of Human Mincer and other days we play the songs of Wormed, we compose the music of both bands slowly and doing the thing that we like… aberrant death metal!

Sometime did you play or you are planning to make a unique show with both bands?
It will be demolished… and for our bodies too!!! -LOL-, in fact I think that it’s a good idea, but it’s impossible at this moment because we are looking for a new drummer to Wormed, we hope that we can find somebody very soon!!!

Phlegeton works in PHLEGETON ART STUDIO and plays the drum, sing or make both things in Wormed, Human Mincer, Godüs, Unsane Crisis, Banished From Inferno… He has a multiple personality or he has twin brothers to make it at the same time? Do you have some story of Phlegeton playing the wrong song of other band in the studio or in a show?
Yes, he’s an active man and he’s making all of those things at the same time!!! He have a lot of work and he can’t dedicate to the bands in the way that he likes for this reason. Personally, I’m happy to play with him in Human Mincer and Wormed, because he’s a dude that always have great ideas and he likes to work more and more with the songs to turn it more brutal, he is a crazy man!!! –LOL-
Until today he didn’t made some mistake with the songs in the shows, but we like when we are playing in a show and he talks with the fans for a long time between songs, and the way that he introduces the songs of the set.

What’s your opinion about the underground in Spain? Do you think that the possibility of somebody organizing any festival like Obscene Extreme, SWR Barroselas or Central Illinois Metalfest in Spain will be a good idea?
I think that we are many bands of all styles (extreme styles) in the underground in Spain and many of them plays music as well as other bands out of Spain. In Spain there are good bands that plays since decades and other bands arrive with a brutal level.
I know that the support of the Spanish fans it’s very poor, the presence of fans in shows of Death and Black it’s poor too and the number of pubs of brutal music is less than in the past. Actually the preferences of the people are focused in spend their money in alcoholic drinks and drugs instead of buy a ticket for a show or a CD. Who want to loose their money organizing a festival?

There’s some band that you like to play with?
All of us enjoy Suffocation, and personally I like to play with them, like the past year in the “Mountains of Death Festival” (Switzerland).

Lately there’s more and more one man band like S.M.E.S., Egemony, Infinite Defilement… what do you think about it? Do you think that it’s better a band with various members to contribute with different points of view to compose the songs?
We think that this is perfect meanwhile the band plays good music like the bands with various members! If a person can do all and the result have good quality like the traditional bands we think that’s good.

In Spain there’s not a death metal fan that doesn’t know Human Mincer and in the international scene Human Mincer it’s a big band. Can you say some Spanish or international bands that sound like Human Mincer to the people that never heard some song of the band?
We’re influenced of national and international bands, but we are strongly influenced by the international bands because they were (and they are) the main influence for the Spanish bands that plays death metal. We liked Spanish bands like Reincarnation, Unnatural o Uncreation, but they were influenced by international bands too. I’m a big fan of Suffocation, and Human Mincer have riffs that sounds like some songs of them. We are influenced by other bands like Disgorge (US), Pyrexia –old-, Devourment and many more.

Today Human Mincer is a well-known band, the things are easier today than in the past? Do you know some people that ignore Human Mincer in the past and today call to you to make some split, compilation or shows?
Yes, unfortunately the human being stinks in its entirety and is depressing enough to see people that when you had a demo they didn't want to listen to and now that we have already a small name (we are not Cannibal Corpse either) they want to have you in their festivals, magazines or their label. Simply we ignore this people and we will continue doing it while let's exist, if we have managed to edit three discs, to appear in good festivals and to continue forward it has been for the people who has supported us during all these years and not for another people who never bet for us in our beginnings.

What do you think about the current television contests who is dedicated to create new musical artists?
I prefer not thinking, simply they stink as 99 % of the current programs of television.

Do you want to say something before finishing the interview?
Only we want to be grateful for the help and the support of those death metal fans that we have known and that we continue knowing around the world. And whom it us doesn't know we invite them to enter in our page on MySpace (www.myspace.com/humanmincer) and take a listen to the songs that we have there, assurance that they will not be upset with!

Thank you for answering to our questions and have a good luck with HUMAN MINCER and with the rest of projects of the members of the band.
Thanks to you for doing this brutal interview to us, is an honor!
Long life to the death metal!!
