Re-Creation gets bouncing off every wall and floor

interview with Chris on 25-7-2005

Please give us a short introduction of yourself?
I'm Chris Grennon, drummer and 2nd lead vocalist for Re-Creation. I'm also a fantasy author that's well-versed in Celtic and Native American myth.

Why do you play in this band? What is the typical fun for this band?
One, the 3 of us get along great. Two, there's a tight chemistry twixt us. Three, we can do jazzy metal improves for hours and no one gets lost. And, oh yeah, it keeps me young and horny.

Which Disney movie pulls your tears? Why?
Dumbo made me cry when I was a kid. Can't remember much outside of the fact that I was once a kid. mwahahaha.

For what price will you sell your music for the commerial sells?
Our full-length CD now sells for $10.00 American dollars even.

How is the metal scene in your area? Lot of gigs? Easy to get them?
The metal scene in happening here, but was way better like 15 years ago. Then again, my motto is, if the scene is dead or dying, then create one. It worked for us. And yeah, we play often, like almost twice a week, unless we take a break to write or whatnot.

How does a show look like?
Lots of energy at one of our shows. Even when my guitarist had a broken foot and was in a cast, he was bouncing off every wall and floor. The crowd either goes nuts, or they gaze at us with an awe-like look.

What do they have to do to obtain free tickets?
Yeah, I (Chris) am the only single one in the band. Does that answer your question? *laughs* Nah, truly, help us carry equipment or simply be a friend.

Reacte on these three words (random order):
* sperm swallowers - ...make good singers? Example, Queen, Rob Halford.
* green blood - is for video gaming, squeamish lads.
* thumbtorture - I would love to torture Lara Croft in her favorite tomb. She's got some curvy freaking polygons.

What is your drive to make music? Did you study for it?
Music is my soul crutch and my inner youth. I studied percussion back in school, learned to read music, but have long since forgotten sheet music. Now I play by ear and constantly practice rudiments.

How do you keep your memories of your musical career alive? Write it down, video?
I have all the reviews, interviews, and newspaper clippings from when I was in international artists: Attica. As for my older bands, I have CDs and some on video.

Do you play covers? Some when rehearsal?
No, never.
We have played covers at maybe two shows, and screwing around at reheasal. We played 6 Feet Under, Lycanthropy. King's Crimson, 21st Century Schizoid Man. Black Sabbath, Hand of Doom.

Which bands will appear on your tribute album in 2008?
Good question. We would most likely get our buds from Blood Obsession on it, the guys from Python, and Necromancy.

Do you have other activities in the metal scene?
I write freelance reviews on bands and video games.

Interest outside the music bizz? What are your hobbies? Sport interest?
Well, as I said, I'm a fantasy author, based on Celtic and Native American myth. I'm also an avid video gamer, mainly RPGs. I collect horror and fantasy action figures. Sports is not in my vocabulary.

Is there life after metal?
What? I don't get it? Of course not.

What prejudice do you hate people have of metal musicians?
I'm not prejudice, I hate everyone who can't see 'beyond'? the CD cover.

Say something in your language that makes my wife horny as hell?
I have a 9 inch G-Spot-locating banana stuffed down my pants that points in certain directions, like Magnetic North.

Last rites?
We need to get on a record label, and I want to live forever, it's my divine right. *winks*
