Carnivore Diprosopus - Rise Of The Insurrection
Carnivore Diprosopus have returned with their new effort titled, “Rise Of The Insurrection”, and with this new release they have extended their grasp into this world of mass insanity to infect the most devout and hungry brutal death metal minions. With a total of 9 tracks, the band blazes through the material with a ferocity not seen since the early days of bands like Suffocation, Infected Flesh, Alienation Mental, and Malignancy. What stands out here is the thick sound of the drums which obviously serves as the backbone of this monstrous machine as they march forward with their aural onslaught. Wilson Henao does an excellent job keeping the rhythm going throughout the album. Precise and to the point, his talent is undeniable. I think they are triggered a little bit, but not to be insanely overdone. Straight up brutal, technical death metal style drumming is what you have here. Jose Rondon and Andres Zuleta handle guitar duties and they are just as brutal and unforgiving. Razor sharp and orchestrated to shred and dominate, you just can’t escape the brutality of what is happening here. They envelope you in a disgustingly surreal aura of savagery in which you feel every riff as it was meant to be.
Pablo Gonzalez is on bass and strikes out in the madness when necessary. His work here is great and totally complimentary to his bandmates. Those bass drops were awesome as well as they seem to come out of nowhere! I would really like to see the band utilize his skills more in the future. T-666 is on vocals, and you know with a name like that, you just cannot go wrong! I really liked the vocal patterns throughout the entire album. There was little variation which was ok as the pure guttural brutality more than made up for it. They reminded me of the vocals from Infected Flesh and Twitch of the Death Nerve with the smallest essence of early Cannibal Corpse thrown in for good measure. Really brutal and guttural is what you’re going to get and that’s just the way it should be. Great band and a great album here. Contact the band or Comatose Music for more information on adding this release to your collection.
