Clactonian - Everlasting Paleolithic

Clactonian is a band formed by Italian and Finnish members, one of the Italians has moved to Finland, in 2023. Very early they released their first EP "Dea Madre", with three of their own songs plus a Von cover.

In this EP they gave us a sample of their raw black/death style, without embellishments, pure violence, primitive of course. And already in 2025, on March 28th, they release their second demonstration of their primitive art, "Everlasting Paleolithic" is the chosen title, and it is composed of two songs "Blood red petroglyphs" and "Paleolithic black metal of death", which is also the name with which they define their style.

"Blood Red Petroglyphs" kicks off the hunt: speed, chaos, raw black/death, nothing more. Guitar riffs as sharp as stones, which were achieved precisely by hitting a rock with a cane in prehistoric times, a rough but effective style.

The second track, "Paleolithic Black Metal Of Death," follows the same line as the previous one, adding some more prominent bass parts, all primitive and dirty, that's precisely the idea. The sound of the solos remains a distinct point in the mix, which I think is what they're going for, since the previous EP also gave that feeling, and I like it.

The band's themes are prehistory, ancestral rituals, and the magic that surrounded that era. The cover art depicts a hunting scene with cave paintings—perfect, crude, primitive art both inside and Out. To guide us, we can mention bands like Beherit, Sarcofago, and Sadistik Exekution.

This demo is dedicated to the memory of Fabrizio Mollo (1998–2024) and is available in a limited-edition cassette format, under the Prehistoric Sounds label, and in digital format.

We will wait for more work from this band.
