Absque Cor - Wędrówkę Haniebnie Zakończyć
With just four tracks, Absque Cor’s debut release is still longer than Slayer’s "Reign In Blood" so we can label it a full length!
Absque Cor is a one man project from Poland. "Wędrówkę Haniebnie Zakończyć" is a black metal album through and through. The songs are long journeys into and beyond into the melancholy state. Each track sways back and forth from the sweeping riffige to melodic passages with tortured vocals. 'To Co W Człowieku Nieuniknione' pauses for ambient and acoustic sections.
'Zdecyduj Więc Sam, Którą Wybierzesz Drogę' brings to mind Celtic Frost well... probably more Triptykon but you get the gist. It has that same effect and sums up the release nicely. Absque Cor mainman VOS clearly knows how to portray emotion and this is an emotionally heavy record rather than sonically heavy or brutal par say. It starts off dense and crushing and then sweeps you away.
All in all this is an album with depth and richness. A great album to just get lost in and disappear for a while to.
An exciting, mature and original debut.
