Ad Vitam Infernal - Infernal Comedy

Debut album for this French two pieces band Ad Vitam Infernal, active since a couple of years and dedicated to a type of black/death with clear old school references. "Infernal Comedy" includes 8 songs, very similar to each other, that take inspiration from the old death metal scene like Centurian, Morbid Angel, Immolation and Deicide... but also from distant influences like Infernal War and Azarath. Very fast riffs, hammering drumming and headbanging guaranteed for this good work.

Honest work without writing anything new as far as the songwriting part is concerned. In spite of this, songs like 'Abject' are very interesting. Narrator voices that personally made me approach to themes (and also for the cover artwork) to something of clear Dante’s Inferno reference...

The songs seem all the same at first listening, but when we get into their more hidden side throught this "Infernal Comedy", they are all appreciated, listening after listening.

'Hell Hunger', 'No Sides' take us straight to hell ferried by the trusty Charon through the mists of Acheronte’s river. The journey in 'To Cross The Rivers' puts on us a hellish anguish, but almost with a surreal melody, we are lulled to take our soul across the river.

'Insane prayer', eighth and last song of this debut album, closes this work without infamy and without praise. Certainly to be the first long-distance work (and the first work ever for this guys) the result is more than positive. I am convinced, and I hope so, that these Ad Vitam Infernal will be heard soon. Give them a chance, because they really deserve it. If you like the old death metal sensations and atmosphere, this album is for you. Horns up!

Good job.
