Al Atkins - Demon Deceiver

Maybe a lot of you don't know the man Al Atkins but if I tell you he is the founder of Judas Priest it might ring a bell. He started Priest in 1969 and left the band due to personal reasons in 1973. After that Al formed serveral bands and released 4 albums before this 2007 release "Demon Deceiver". The album starts with the instrumental titletrack which shows the power of the band. Namely the guitars are very cool. Nice slide riffs and great leads by Simon Lees of Budgie. Al has still a good and mature voice after all those years and together with the good rhythms they make good songs. The album has really good songs with melody and addictive rhythms and suprised me a lot. Really a good and pure metal album. The only thing that is strange to hear is the song "Victim Of Changes". A great song but the version with Rob from "Unleashed In The East" keeps haunting me.
