Azarath - Blasphemers' Maledictions

Inferno the drummer from Behemoth and drummer and guitarist from Deus Mortem is on this album. The album is really well rounded, flows really well and keeps you interested. The cover artwork has a lot going on but it's very organized and calculated, just like the structure of this album. The detail is very intricate, clear and forward thinking unique artwork. I checked out some live photos and it appears they have an upside down stained glass cross. Ridiculous. Very unique idea for visual effect.

The double bass work is spot on. I can't put into words how amazing his rolls are on this album. Really nice hand work on the cymbals. Do I even need to mention the blasting is killer? It's Inferno... hello. The drum production is tight and defined yet not over produced. Guitar tone is awesome. Solos are well done. A lot of different techniques used with the guitar attack. Tremolo, palm muting, single note runs, and even melodic chords. Keeps the guitar sounding fresh. Vocals are nice and gravely yet articulate. It's got that vomiting in the mic effect to it. Beginning of Behold The Satan's Sword is absolutely pummeling. The psychedelic melodic outro adds a really nice touch to this song.

You have to listen to this album a few times to let all the instruments sink in before you listen to it as a whole. First listen to the drums, then guitars, and then go back a third time to listen to it as a whole. This album is the definition of well rounded.
