Before The Fall - Antibody

Founded in 2005, Austria's metalcore maniacs Before The Fall were sent to the world of metal with one purpose; to destroy everything in their path and create some of the most unique, revitalising songs within the genre. 2010's 'Antibody' is the clear result of endless amounts of effort and strength placed into an album. Although the genre is clearly metalcore, there are also several elements of death metal, thrash, and some in which I probably couldn't even categorise. Genres aside, and you have an excellent selection of raw, savage songs for an album suited for fans of Hatebreed, to As I Lay Dying.

'On Your Knees' is one of my favourite tracks on the album, the catchy melody throughout is enough to make you wonder why these guys aren't as big as they should be. Despite the song's length, there's enough hooks to corner you into no backing out, and even the lyrics become jammed in your head as if it were some radio friendly pop crap. The opening of church bells and heavy rain makes 'Blood Tsunami' an instant classic for an instrumental, which leads into the monstrous 'Go To Hell'. This track belts it's worth, using a sinister array of evil vocals and chants, forcing this to be one of the more memorable songs.

Whilst the album artwork joins the Halloween-all-year fanclub, you have to wonder what Before The Fall will come up with next. The vocals may appear as your stereotypical metalcore ass blaster - but the guitarists surely make up for this with riffs so tight and then all of a sudden enter a major frenzy. Whatever Before The Fall do next is crucial, yet I know they'll head for the for the correct path.
