Bestia - Ronkade Parved

“Ronkade Parved” is Bestia´s second full length output after releasing several demos, a Split CD and a compilation. These Estonian guys signed a deal with Hexenreich Records to present you 42 minutes of true underground Pagan / Black Metal with slight Thrash Metal influences and Folk elements. So expect some rather unusual instruments like flutes, etc. This shows the versatility of Bestia, but shouldn´t hide the fact “Ronkade Parved” contains basically Black Metal. The production suffers the typical lack of the bass guitar, but everything else sounds angry enough to satisfy your need for a blackened and raw evocation of the ancient times. As mentioned before, Bestia´s music is also inspired by Pagan Metal and therefore not only permeated by blast beats, but some nice drum variations. The vocals range from normal Black Metal screaming to darker and hoarse chanting. This full length album contains some epic and superior moments with recognition value, but sometimes also mediocre riffs and predictable structures. I won´t say it ruins the good impressions, but with just a few more sophisticated guitar works, it would have surely been better and even more enjoyable. But that´s open to dispute. “Ronkade Parved” is suitable for open-minded listeners as well as fans of true underground Folk inspired Pagan / Black Metal.
