Beyond Mortality - Infected Life
This week we are pleased to talk about this promising death/thrash metal band called Beyond Mortality formed in 1999 in their native Sweden, and after some lineup changes, currently are formed by Tony "Ari" Pettersson, Anton Wallette, Tobias Karlsson, Gustav Sundin and Johan Kaiser. They have six demos in their career and today we have their first full length, Infected Life.
With a very clean sound and a very careful production, we started to hear a set of gunshots that can not leave indifferent to extreme metal fans, quickly we noticed the hand of Dan Swanö in mastering, a professional in the field, known by all of us as producer and musician also.
We started to enjoy this job with 'The Beyond', a very typical intro in this kind of music, to continue with 'Demand A Sacrifice', where the band's aggressiveness makes us realize what awaits us in the rest of the work, pure brutality! In 'Aborted' is where the blast beats take us to madness, with infernal double kicks, and with a very well worked and composed instrumentation in 'Infected Life' and 'Born From The Grave'.
Also I would like to emphasize on the lead vocals on this occasion, which I can not avoid comparing by moments to my dearest Loudblast, a really excellent job to my taste, showing in a perfect way that you can sing guttural and clear at the same time, and with a very worthy rage of this kind of music, so give a good account of that, songs like 'Suffocation by Fear'.
To finish this review, and as a final thought, I would encourage our readers to listen to this band, as well as many others who are fighting for many years to reach a foothold in the scene, and congratulate Beyond Mortality for their perseverance, keep fighting!
