Body Harvest - Parasitic Slavery
Body Harvest’s “Parasitic Slavery” is an album sure to be talked about in the metal underground if not the metal world entirely. From beginning to end, it embodies the essence of old school death metal while incorporating the transcendence into the modern-day attitude and vibe. In years to come, this will be an undeniable classic to say the least. Technically proficient riffage powers this presentation forward into a chaotic maelstrom of monstrous, which pulls you in, taking you along for the ride. Reminiscent of bands such as Crucifixion, Newer Immolation, and Vital Remains, Body Harvest add that certain something to their music, making it extra brutal. Even so, they retain the reverence of true death metal without bogging it down with unnecessary fillers and breakdowns.
I really liked the vocals on this album. They were extremely brutal with an ethereal vibe that would make you skin crawl. If I had to make a comparison, I would have to say they are a mix of the vocals from Crucifixion’s “In The Desert Of Shattered Hopes”, and Immolation’s “Dawn Of Possession”. The pattern and presentation really add to the substance and overall feel to the album. Body Harvest definitely have a classic here. There is an aura with this album that not many bands can capture, and it is this aura that sets them apart from the rest. The drums, riffs, and vocals, all come together swirling into a massive maelstrom of emotion and passion, which is evident in every track. I highly recommend that you do not let this one pass you by. It will not disappoint. Contact the band or Comatose Music for more information on obtaining this awesomeness.
