Bound To Prevail - Omen Of Iniquity
From Malta comes Bound To Prevail, a death metal band with some brutal influences and some modern touches, very interesting and in spite of their youth (2014) as a band, they have played in some festivals with bands of first level. This EP is their first work after a demo of two songs included in this “Omen Of Iniquity”. What Bound To Prevail offers is a death metal similar to bands like Avulsed, Anasarca, Cryptopsy, Aborted, Suffocation… mix of brutality and melody, mix of modern and old death metal, well, this one is younger of course.
All tracks are in a same line, it is an homogeneous EP, but not monotone, you know.
'Survival Of The Sickest' is the first, with a hard and fast beginning, deep sounds, a melodic and good solo, you can see what is going on with these guys.
'The Throne Where Gods Bleed', in the same line, fast, deep, brutality, and a Slam part, a great solo.
'Aeons Of Carnage', a melodic beginning, and after, is like a melodic death metal, but without losing the brutal spirit, and some technical parts, a very good song.
'Contorted Divergence', with a similar to Cryptopsy line, fast parts, others heavy.
'Irreverent Progeny', similar to Anasarca, melodic and powerful riffs, in fact is the line of whole EP, and that is good. Listen to the solos, are great. No rest from the first note to the end.
Very good musicians, all of them have a prime part of whole EP, and of course also the vocalist, good guitarists, good bass lines, brutal and fast drums.
Recorded at XIR Mobile Recording Studio by Clayton Cini, mixed and mastered by guitarist and engineer Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions.
Very good presentation, nice artwork by Eutienne Bugeja in reference to the second song I think
As a curiosity they have not signed with any label yet, so this is self released, I hope they get a label soon, and get support for a debut album. The disciples of Beheaded are here.
