Brain Drill - Quantum Catastrophe
Brain Drill is a band from California, the mind behind this post-apocalyptic act is Dilan Ruskin, a virtuous guitarrist with the light speed in his hands. He created this band after parting from other first band, with Marco Pitruzella, Jeff Hughell and Steve Rathjen, they recorded an EP "the parasites" 2006, in 2008 came the first album "apocalyptic feasting", they were touring and them suddenly split up. Well, Dilan said that all was over in a first time, but not, he found new members and re-start the band, and the result is this "quantum catastrophe", a destructive album.
This is a demostration of how to play at maximum speed possible, but not only this, is a demostration of how to play brutal death in a new vein. This is not for beginners in metal, you have to be openminded to absorb all the notes that fly in this album. Maybe, for many people this is only a lot of notes and blast beat and brutal voice. Not. This is a new point of view of what is brutal death, virtuous musicians and not stand on ceremony.
The first when you listen to this band is to be surprised by the speed of drums(gravity blast beats, speed bass drum), and they add speed guitars (all kind of technics are here), speed bassis (same than guitars) and a good brutal voice. Intense and extreme are the words when you listen to Brain Drill.
The only bad thing here is that you can be confused because it seems that the full album is a long song with different parts. But is a great album, for fans of Viraemia, Beneath the Massacre...
