Carnifloor - Process Of Disorderly Conduct
A blast from Netherlands this time with mr Floor Carnivoor doing everything here. You can understand how the band was named right? Anyway… this here is the first full length from Carnifloor, released under Rotten Music and let's get into it.
After a two minute intro that kind of serves the purpose of getting you into the proper mood, the second track strikes. 'Obscene Intentions' is the title and I would say it is a really good combination of brutal death metal and slam. The riffs are definitely slam. What brings it to the brutal death metal shores is definitely the drumming. Full on blast beats and drum rolls. Aggressive in every aspect. Achieves to bind the slam riffs with the death metal attitude and kind of wraps the whole thing together. Third song is 'Acid Purification' and more or less everything mentioned above have the same values here. 'Disposable Pleasure Servant' is next and there's a brilliant swirling riff in the middle. The next songs that follow share the same perversions from the ones they succeeded. Big riffs, heavy chops, relentless drum programming but with no exaggerations and the appropriate vocals. Growls, Grunts and pig squeals can be found in a wide variety in mr Carnivoor's arsenal and they come in handy whenever they feel appropriate.
Song constructions are not tiresome, and it feels like the man knows his tools and how to use them. Production though is a mystery. Could be better, could be worse. It really is a matter of taste here. I mean. I personally like my death metal to sound loud and rough but to some of you, it might seem that Carnifloor are a bit super compressed and sometimes to some ears this might sound a bit disturbing. Not enough though to ruin the fun. Summing up , I'd have to say that "Process Of Disorderly Conduct" is a really good brutal death metal/slam CD. Nothing to change your views of course in this genre but if you are already a fun of it, it won't leave you untouched.
