Cerebral Engorgement - Cerebral Chronicles
Gore House Productions presents the fifth album from the brutal death metal/slam one-man band Cerebral Engorgement, "Cerebral Chronicles", a demonstration of sheer brutality. Formed in 2007 as Extripated Fetuses, changed name to this one and began the apocalypse, the only permanent member and almost just one is Michael Simon who composes and plays all instruments and vocals, and have to say that in a very good way.
One of the most remarkable features of Cerebral Engorgement are the growls, low and cavernous, but this one of the standard in this music, here is a big mark. Also I have to say that I think all instruments are played by Michael, and I hope also drums, sound really real, well programmed or great work on drums, low guitar, with power riffs and slam crushing touch.
Within this style there is sometimes little room for manoeuvre, but Michael has managed to extract juice from that margin and compose a good collection of songs in 26 intense minutes of astral terror and gore.
'Voices Of Corruption', a short beginning for this album, chunky riff with fast as hell bass drums. 'Abstract Defecation', intense beginning, fast blast beats, some crushing slam parts. 'Succubus Reanimated', brutal beginning, some parts with open chords, giving a different view . 'When Everything Makes You Sick', slam death metal is here to destroy, nice bass drums work.
'
Always Watching', good riff, in the vein of Disgorge, for example, and slow and low in the middle, crushing riff. 'Hellucinations Of The Dead', very good riff, closer to brutal death than slam, one of the best tracks.' Aetherial Control', in the line of whole album, great work with snare, gravity blast beats, and some melodic riffing, with some dark touch, also one of the best tracks, some open voice.
'Endlessly Dying', very short song with variety, it passes in a breath. 'Inescapable Multiverse', saturated bass to beginning, nice slam riff, brutal parts and some parts close to old school death metal. 'Gastrointestinal Riddles', to destroy the rest here we slam with good taste, and some calm part, a god finish.
Very good album of brutal death/slam, good musician, composer, nice and suitable artwork. A very good sample of good work.
