Chainsaw Penis - Chainsaw Penis III: The Dark Side Of The Room

Chainsaw Penis are a bunch of daft buggers from the UK who play something resembling a cross between Anal Cunt and that local band full of 14 year olds who wouldn't know what good metal sounded like if it shagged their leg. They're very self-deprecating and generally fucking silly - or at least silly enough to have yours truly guest on their previous album as fucking Skeletor - so their third album had to go above and beyond the constant lol-random references to Nicholas Cage, Skeletor, Jimmy Saville and your mum and here we have a concept album based on the really fucking awful 2003 movie, The Room. Oddly enough, Chainsaw Penis actually have some material that vaguely resembles music this time around which comes as quite a shock, but it's still unbelievably shit intentionally for comedic/torturous purposes so it's all forgotten about ten seconds later. Fans of the band's older 'music' will find ome daft shit to enjoy here, but giving Chainsaw Penis an actual score from a critic's perspective is about as relevant as farting on the couch is to eating a pasty. Plus, being a bunch of self-aware rubbish, there's absolutely no way anybody could take this band seriously from a musical standpoint so they get a hearty recommendation in the same way that you'd heartily recommend someone to watch a movie as shit as The Room; you have to experience it yourself to 'get it' otherwise it's just shit, but there's a small chance that you might develop a bizarre fondness/sexual fetish for it.
