Chaos Synopsis – The Art Of Killing

It isn’t often (or lately) that I hear a band that really makes me do a double take with my music-loving ears. There are a lot of well put together up and coming bands in the last two years but none (with the exception of the Philadelphia area) that grasped the old school thrash sound. With a heavy heart and a tear-stained face, I thought Thrash Metal was dead.
But then I heard, "The Art Of Killing" by Chaos Synopsis who are out of Mexico. Mind Blown. I wiped the tears off my despondent face as my ears perked up. They have been around for about seven years but this is my first go at them. And I am happy to shout: Thrash is still here to stay!

Their second full-length release, "The Art Of Killing" goes one better with each song about a famous (or infamous) serial killer. Hence, the CD title and final track on this epic release. Some of the titles are obvious while others are a little obscure. If you are into the history of serial killers, this album is double fun. You can listen while you do some research.
Song after song is brutal! The vocals, drums, bass and guitar eloquently mesh making this CD mandatory to add to your heavy metal collection.

The intro is thick and heavy with double bass and kick ass riffs that remind me of the Philadelphia thrash scene here in the states mixed with a little Hatebreed. This is excellent and dominates throughout this adrenaline pumping album.
I usually pick a few songs to detail on the albums I review, but this whole damn thing is so killer I just have to say go out and buy the damn thing, download it off of iTunes… whatever. GET THIS CD.

Best tracks on the CD: 'Rostov Ripper', 'Zodiack', 'B.T.K. (Bind, Torture, Kill)' and 'Monster Of The Andes'.
The others are wicked as well, but these four are downright brutal!

Five Stars for ‘The Art of Killing.’ If I could, I’d give it one hundred.
Well done, Chaos Synopsis.
