Concrete Swine - Ural Express

Concrete Swine's debut EP 'Ural Express' is a brief but enjoyable collection of slow, almost doomy Blues Rock pieces that will remind fans of groups like slower Black Label Society, Black Water Rising, and other Groove n' Heavy Metal efforts. Most of the tracks are slow, driving efforts like "Concrete Swine" with melody mixed in that won't really get listener blood boiling, but it isn't a complete contemplative bore like Drone Metal can be either. The solos are especially bluesy and carry a unique tone that makes this stand out from average Groove n' Doom or Sludge Rock groups. "Save Yourself" is by far the most interesting track with its slow opening, use of cowbell, and churning riffs pick up and will definitely remind fans of the music of the legendary Black Sabbath. The vocals are solid all the way through and all the energy is behind this track, both in melody and power. Overall those who like their music hard and bluesy with an interesting twist of Metal will find Concrete Swine quite enjoyable, and this EP will satisfy until the big time full length is released.
