Criminal Jammage - Rapid Fire Capital Punishment
Criminal jammage first sprang to life in mid-2006 under the name 'SkadK' when Kris and Ed decided they needed a band to vent their musical aggression. The band went through a series of name and line-up changes until current drummer Ste was recruited into the band and the name 'Criminal Jammage' was decided upon. Months passed and the band found themselves in need of a vocalist and bass player. Already a friend of the band, Lorcan (Ex-Nuclear Reign) was chosen to fill the position of bass player, who with him brought vocalist Dave into the equation, resulting in the bands most powerful line-up to date. Currently active on the gigging circuit the band have recently recorded there debut E.P. and have decided to release it for FREE!!! You'll find the link on their page in the blog section, FUCK THE RECESSION!!!!
Here we go with the band´s first output titled "Rapid Fire Capital Punishment". The boys from Dublin, Ireland offer death metal with some thrashy influences. The songs are interesting to listen because you never know whats next. The band uses nearly every extreme metal style in their songs. From straight old school death to really grooving parts, over blast beats and some modern influences combined with a little grind. This EP, including 5 songs was self realesed, and I think recorded in an amateur studio. It sounds very demo like, but that's absolutely ok.
While listening you get a good overview about what the band is able to do. The vox are really impressive, from deep grunts over painful screams. Good and tight drumming, guitar-work is also absolutely ok. All in all a very good first output. I hope the next album has a better sound and the band is working on round songwrting harder. Try it, it's good stuff!
