Decrepit Womb - Promo 2010 ver1.1
Saturday Morning, 23/10/10, I have now been eagerly waiting my Decrepit Womb promo for something like 3 weeks now. Now I had heard a few seconds of the songs on MySpace but I never go by MySpace on anything as everything is compressed blah blah. It just doesn't represent any given band.
So to my delight, Geoff (guitars) had been in touch to inform me there had been a mix up and that he had assured me my copy was on it's way. It was today this huge slab of the most slamming death metal this side of New York arrived. Now this CD makes me so happy!!! Words can't explain it so!
For those not in the know, Decrepit Womb consists of Aaron Healy on drums, Sammy Lewis on guitars (Regurgitate Life), Sam Yates on vocals (Guitars In Ingested), Geoff Bradley on guitars (Session-Kastrated, Oblivionized) and not to mention Matty Jones on bass (Crepitation, Neuroma). Now each one of these indvidual's respective bands I am a fan of but each one of them does not come close to this! Think Skinless, Internal Bleeding, mixed with a small hint (and I mean small) with Devourment with early early Dying Fetus and what you have is probably the grooviest CD I've heard in a seriously long time! This CD really is made for the moshpit and to me there simply isn't enough of this calibre of band about. Each track is a real power house of a song with so much groove and heaviness words can't explain nor can the mind comprehend. The production is thick with a nice slick balance of all instruments (more bass?- you decide!) and the drums sound nice and real but not overly processed which as you all know is a serious fault in modern death metal. I cannot recommend this CD enough!!! If I were all these guys I would treat this as abit more than a side project because I feel this CD is something very very special. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Awesome.
