Defeated Sanity - The Sanguinary Impetus
In case you are into brutal death metal then the name of Defeated Sanity should definitely ring a bell. This German band has been around since 1993 and so far they have six full length albums with "The Sanguinary Impetus" being their newest record. Prepare yourself for nine bloody and rotten chunks of hyper blasting death/grind with strong technical touch.
Defeated Sanity have possessed the utter musical in-sanity of bands such as Cryptopsy, Gorgasm or the early Kataklysm but having in mind that this band exists since the beginning of the 90's it is safe to say that they have developed their own sound. The extraordinary drummer Lille Gruber strikes with solid blastbeats as well as constant tempo changes and he is also responsible for the heavy guitar riffs. Quite a good work from him!
In "The Sanguinary Impetus" you can also hear the twisted bass patterns of Jacob Schmidt and the deep guttural voice of the American Josh Welschman who had a one-man solo project called Autonomy. The production of the album is on a very good level for this genre and you can hear all the stuff that is happening while those crazy guys play on their instruments.
This is one of those love-it-or-hate-it records but it will not leave you uninterested for sure. If qualitative brutal death metal is your thing then you should definitely check out the new Defeated Sanity record!
