Demented – Psychoanalysis Of Eternal Pain

Pure brutal death metal is what Demented deals with. The band delivers raw strength material and the songs sound really bone-breaking and grim, despite the fact that the band focuses more into classic-death metal lyrical subjects e.g. death, torture, paranoia (and not referring to darkness, anti-religion and stuff like that). The guitars sound sludgy, the bass and the drums seem to have been recorded in a swamp, and the vocals come from the depths of the Abbyss…that means the sound is filthy in general, more than appropriate for this band and reminds of Suffocation’s and Immolation’s mid 90s releases (see “Pierced from Within” or “Blessed from Below” albums). Pretty cool influences if you ask me…!

Demented give the impression of being very focused on what they’re doing, they clarify they’re interested only in the brutal side of death metal, and with “Psychoanalysis of Eternal Pain”, they manage to bring this genre back to life, in its original form: no breakdowns, no jerk-off solos, no speed for speed attitude, only violent, fucking death metal!

I take the stupid bluesy part in “One Death” as an inside joke and I pretend I didn’t hear it, ha ha!
