Descending Darkness - Blutrausch
There's not much I can say about this band as the only web sight I could find was a Myspace sight with no information on this album at all and seemingly a different band so I'll stick to the music as I hear it. I was a little put off at the transition between a grim intro and the first actual track but quickly my ears adjusted and the music soon came into its own. The overall tone on this album is a gritty high end and quite middly tone fused with some insane blasting drums, visceral grunts and growls with a raw but fairly clear production. I have to say I enjoyed this album for its drumming the most but I find the guitars start drift into a dull place alot of the time and I can see the vocals holding a little longer than they do so some bigger lungs are in order.
I do like the honesty in this album but it has to be said that the songwriting is the strong point as apposed to riffs in themself's just goes to show that a good structure can do wonders. Some serious Venom influence definitely presents itself in the thrashier parts and the cacophony gets pretty intense in places lots of feedback thrown in for good measure. So if you want something you can get your heads down to and start some wall to wall vomiting in the name of the dark deity's in alphabetical order, get stuck in this one fave track is saistic domination.
3 Stars for the demented drops.
