Destroy Destroy Destroy - Battle Sluts

To be honest, this album is my first encounter with the band. So little researched learned that they are from Tennessee (USA) and started in January 2003 and so far released 2 independent EPs and a ful length. Actually two full lengths as "Battle Sluts" is their second one. They already went on stage with several known bands and this pays off in the sound. "Battle Sluts" comes with an exploding artwork that suggest power and aggression. The opening track is an instrumental and showing off an epic war march and "Battle Upon The Arctic Plains" starts with a trumphet/warhorn before bestorming the frontlines. This is power metal, heavy metal, black metal and death metal in one cup. All hell, it is even catchy. The tunes are fast, aggressive and powerful with a vocalist who shrieks like a black metal frontman. Guitars are twin playing melodies with too little leads. This would give their music more balls, furious thrash leads. Double bass drums can be heard a lot and they are not afraid to use female vocals or keyboards. And the trumphets come back again. After listening this album I cam to the conclusion that it is a fun album to listen to. You know they are going from one side to another but the songs are catchy and most of the chorusses are sing a long ones. Forget the prejudice and give this album a try as your mood will be enlightened to hear such happy music. Don't take it all too serious as I think that they don't want you to solve the 10.000 puzzle pieces but just have a good time with some beers and friends. Listen to the last song "Battle Slut Drinking Song" and the puzzle is solved...
