Die Among Heroes - Die Among Heroes

Die Among Heroes is a Texas based band and instead of brutal death metal they play melodic metalcore. Die Among Heroes consist of five guys that want to create positive energy through thir music.

Just released their self titled debut album containing 8 track of which the opener is an intro. And it must said it is a nice one. It is an instrumental piece played in reverse, at least that is what I think. Following track "In The End I Don't Return" starts with a melodic twin guitar line over a powerful drum. So the start is good. When the vocalist Chase falls in he shouts his anger into the mic and a few lines later he is handing over the mic to a neighbour who enters the studio. But hey, it is not a neighbour who walks in but it is Chase himself who is doing the clean vocal parts. Ok, a few lines won't hurt. Next song "Perish What Ignites The Flame" continues what they started. The twin guitars playing melody after melody but Dean and Andrew forget to do some kick ass solos! Drummer Kyle is pretty hitting hard with double bass click frequently and Dustin is filling the holes with his 4 snares. Tempo of the songs are in the mid range with some rapid and some easy going parts. And so the disc goes on till the last track "My Failling Attempts", very melodic. But the clean vocal parts cannot satisfy me after all, they get the aggression out of the songs. But maybe they use it to get in the billboard charts?

Conclusion for this debut album is that Die Among Heroes know how to handle the instruments, can write melodies and do decent preformances. For me the missing part is the lack of guitar solos and the overkill of clean vocals. But maybe when you re a big fan of melodic metalcore you cannot wait checking them out. So enter their Myspace page where they have a nice widget where you can listen to the tracks and also buy them directly.
