Disaster - The Battle Escalates
France's Disaster start off their first release The Battle Escalates with a pretty epic intro, and then end up stalling and going nowhere. The music is very aggressive but doesn't seem to go anywhere. When you hear people say "death metal is just a bunch of noise" this is exactly what they're talking about. You can't differentiate the songs, and Disaster gets stuck in the rut of just playing as fast as they can and growling/screaming. The speed and brutality are good, but there's little song structure. Play this album for people you want to scare, but only if you don't have to buy it.
