Disfago - Snake.Triangle.Sacrifice

Have you ever wondered how would it sound if you mixed the raw ugly British punk fury and antisocial themes of Discharge with the south american unholiness and blasphemy of Sarcófago?
Disfago tried it. And it worked. Punk, proto-black riffs with tons of noise, thrash metal and vocals with echo and screams all put to blender with a really nice outcome.

After a noisy intro, the opening track is 'Disfago, Disfago, Disfago' mixing metal with punk and proving that the ferocity and anger of these genres is actually common. This is what the whole album is about, I guess. On the second song 'Meat Quest' certain vocal parts and riffs reminded me of Jello Biafra/Dead Kennedys. The high pitched screams to follow took me to Sarcófago and Sextrash just before the Slayer-ish lead.

'Death Comes To You' continues in the same way. The song features a beautiful punk/hardcore melodic voice line. 'Puck Up Your Ass' riff is Slayer-ishly chaotic and aggressive. Extreme Noise Terror are also present! 'Brexit' starts off and a scream as if from Slayer's 'Angel Of Death' hits my speakers. The rhythm is a bastard mixture of Slayer and D.R.I. with some leads that while being untechnical you will initially love.

'Where Is Byron?' is a Subhumans/Sex Pistols/Discharge diamond. Only one word comes to mind. ATTACK! This is punk, this is hardcore. In your face music! This is how it is! Punk is the genre that changed everything in music. Combined with heavy metal it created thrash metal and speed metal and every form of aggressive music we know. Enjoy! 'Merciful Fete' is another punk classic. Early Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror are here too. There are double vocals. Sometimes they sound like triple (punk, brutal and screams).

Disfago's album reminded me of the 90's and early 00's when we would see live shows like this in Athens, Greece in squats like Villa Amalias or Polytechneio. This style of music is always better and more vivid when you see it live at shows especially after some drinks. I'm trying not to be nostalgic but it is always nice to see such efforts still going on. Support the band and try catch this power trio live!
