Doomed Again/Warcorpse - Doomed To War
Greek split between two hardcore/crust/punk bands. Not bad ey? The fine gentlemen we got here are Doomed Again and Warcorpse and the name of the split is "DOOMED To WAR". Got it? First part of each ones name and there you go. Can't get any easier…
So first band opens with three tracks and they are Doomed Again. The band might sound fresh but the boys behind are hard boiled freaks in the scene. Headcleaner and Slaktgrav should be more than enough when it comes to references, to check this guys out. 'Absurdity' breaks in and its 00:38 secs are more than enough to set the mood right for this one. Two riffsX2 and that's it. Fast and uncompromising harcore/punk, streetwise with the perfect raw production suited for this particular genre. The next one is 'Consumption For Delight'. This for me is one of the brightest moments of this split CD. Groovy hardore rhythm, with a great flow that will probably take out the little mosher we all are hiding deep inside. 'No Exit' is the final contribution of Doomed Again to this split and follows the lead of the previous two. Harcore punk at its finest with the appropriate anti-fascist lyrical content and all it includes. And the pogo has only just started here.
Warcorpse are more to the punk side of this split. The big difference when it comes to the sound is that these guys like their shit a bit more raw. 'Aftermath Of War' is their first one and let pogo commence damn it. Punk riffs disguised in hardcore outfit. 'Life In Misery' is their second one and one can tell their punk influences as long as the bass solo intro breaks in. Heard that type of intro many times but who gives a fuck? This is how this shit should be played and the boys nailed it. Last one is a cover of the English crust punksters from Birmingham, Doom. And the song is 'Police Bastard'. A bit slower than the original but still a good cover.
Making a long story short. This split CD is the definition of a genre. Simple, intense, rough, politically unrest and against all authority and fascism. If you are into hardcore/crust/punk, start looking for ways to purchase this. The only way(I think) is through the pages from the bands as it is a totally D.I.Y release. Start dustin your mohawks sisterzzzz..
