F.K.U. - Metal Moshing Mad
Upsalla is the hometown of this Swedish band and this town has brought forth more metal bands than Durex with their condoms. F.K.U. stands for Freddy Kruegers Underwear (briljant) and he can be found all over their artwork. But you can also read fuck you. And the first thing I did when I got this disc was to study the artwork with all the pics and thanklists. And that brought a lot of memory to the old days seeing all those thrash bands like Anthrax, Agent Steel, Exodus, S.O.D., Nuclear Assault, Kreator or Holy Terror. And what about their modification of the D.R.I. mascot? And I can get on and on and realize that was a great era. When I listen to this disc (originally released in 1999 and which includes the demo from 1998) it brings back those memory vivid. A lot of reverance and influences can be heard. Be it S.O.D. riffs, Overkill vocals or the littleĀ Agent Steel passages. This album is big fun for the thrash fans who survived the 80s and want to hear thrash with massive riffs, mosh parts and sing a long chorusses. But it would have been better to put something else as a bonus as most of the demo songs are also on the full length but that is there choice.
