Fischel's Beast - Commencement

Staight up old school American Thrash Metal is what you will find with Fischels Beast and their album "Commencement" will definately not disappoint fans of this style music.

Fischel's Beast is a 4 man piece from good old New York USA. Current line up: Eric Mauriello: bass, Barry Fischel: guitar, Anthony Cross: vocals and Ed Klinger: drums.

Some of these band members have/had dealings with other bands such as: Barry Fischel and Sentinel Beast, Anthony Cross and Livesay + Shadow Image and Ed Klinger with Caligula.

Barry Fischel departed from the Sentinel Beast in '89 and now with his new band Fishel's Beast with their album "Commencement" has managed to preserve and hold honor to the spirit of Sentinel Beast. Tracks such as: "One Man’s Cry" and "Where Am I" hold the lyrics created by Sentinel Beast's vocalist Debbie Gunn. Other tracks on this album are originally Debbie's as well from what I can understand they are just done in Anthony Cross's own style. Well there is way to much history and stories with concerns to the orgins of Fischel's Beast, I will leave it up to you to look into it all for yourself, now back to the actual album: "Commencement" is edgey yet has a melodic touch. Killer dual leads, heavy and tight riffs throughout with steady bass and drum beats that are unexpected yet flow perfectly into the scene. The strong vocals also really make this album happen. The unpredictable changes, electro Middle Eastern sounding guitar work (in some parts), along with the authentic metal vocals is what makes this album work for me. Alot of heart and soul here and it gets my rating of 4/5

Side note: If anyone wishes to look into the old works of Sentinel Beast I highly recommend that you do. Awesome female fronted band and Debbie Gunn is a killer vocalist. I also believe that she has brought back Sentinel Beast with a whole new line up so this also might be worth checked out.
