Fistula - Burdened By Your Existence
Heavy and slow. Those are the very first thoughts coming to my mind to describe this work from Ohio. With very long lasting tracks (one is over 10 minutes) this band grinds the speakers of their amplifiers with heavy, slow and crawling riffs. Drums are the movements of a wounded dinosaur… Lets leave this alcoholic descriptions and center in the band. Leaded by the guitarist Corey Bing, this gringos have been rehearsing for more than eight years. Their discography is important: five full length albums, a pair of EP’s and lots of Splits. Here we find death metal with infra human tunes, in a low speed. Almost agonic. There are eight tracks, but if you make it to the fourth is admirable. Or you die ‘cause of a suffocated heavy sonority, or you’re already dead before. “Isolation reward” is the track that moved more my neurons, recovering the velocity of the beat and adding a little “stoner” touch. Second part in “Cat skulls are thick” regenerates the violent death metal with a vertiginous and killer rhythm. Remember PAGANUS? This is the way they should play. Great CD for lovers of the ultra - slow death metal tunes. There is a special edition in double LP vinyl with bonus tracks.
