Fractured Insanity - Massive Human Failure

In the various and multiple record releases heard in the last years, I had missed these Fractured Insanity’s guys. A band that I had the opportunity to appreciate when they released their first album “When Mankind Becomes Diseased” in the far 2007. This Belgian band has done a lot on the streets, going from the second album released in 2010 (“Mass Awakeless”) to “Man Made Hell” released in 2016 under the protective wings of Dave Rotten and his Xtreem Music Records.

“Massive Human Failure” thus arrived, four years after their previous album, to try to carve out a space within the European death scene (and beyond). I approached this album with great enthusiasm, mostly because I hadn’t heard them for a long time but above all, because I wanted to see how much they had matured over the past 5 years. In my opinion, the band made a bold choice to stop and understand what they wanted to do with themselves and their music. I had the confirmation of these impression by reading the few lines which the band left on their FB profile.

The result of this decision is called “Massive Human Failure”. Nine pieces of classic death metal sound that leave a bitter taste in the end. The new album seems like an inner search to find out from which precise point to find inspiration to build one’s own sound and identity. The desire to go in this direction has, in my opinion, limited. First of all, the band’s ability to show itself for what it is and, on the other hand, the foundations for really building interesting things for the future.

The songs flow too fast, waiting for something that makes fly... but unfortunately we always remain at too low levels for the importance of the band. 'Reflecting The Soul' tries to restore order within this album and then continue on the same tracks as the previous songs. What to say. A sincere, courageous and powerful album still far from being able to complete and propose itself to more people. I hope that they don’t spend so much time to release another album. Come on, I’ve really appreciate their new turn. Horns up.
