Holocausto Canibal - Opus Genitalia
The name of the CD is "Opus Genitalia" and as you might expect, it aims to grab you by them (your genitals) and give them a good firm squeeze. Ah yes these perverted Portuguese gore-grinders do seem fascinated with oral and anal sex, and of course who isn't, but as the CD wears on the level of perversity increases. Each track is preceded by a soundclip containing some form of sex-talk beginning innocently enough with oral sex advice from a doctor progressing to a woman fucking a dog -- and goddamn it does sound like she is getting off -- to some serious pimp-slapping, and eventually we work our way up to the description of a mutilated corpse in brutal detail as an autopsy is performed.
Musically speaking, the vox approach the guttural intensity level of sarlaac pit beast (that's very guttural folks) and most songs feature the insanely fast straight-ahead bass drum blastbeats with military snares (yes it does sound as if some drum machine is mixed in there) complimented by nerve-jangling cymbal crashes, and guitars that grind and churn out the type of demented riffs that are common in this type of music.
Early Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Brutus, Internal Suffering, Prostitution Disfigurement come to mind as similar-sounding bands. I suppose it's all been done before but this type of shit is what it's all about, Grade-A brutal death grind, the kind of music you can put on your headphones and be ready for the obscene depravity of everyday life!
