Imperfect Souls - Sabbat
My friend Lucas Dias send me very enthusiastic the promo of his band, from Brazil. I found three tracks of pure thrash metal, raw and sharp, plus a SEPULTURA’s cover. Involuntary this band reminds me the sound and style from first works of Latin American bands trying to be out in the middle 80’s with violence and obscure stridence, such as VULCANO or SARCOFAGO. And a record totally chaotic and direct. “Dick in the ass of Christ” defines the style of the whole tracks. Furious thrash metal with extremely powerful and convincing vocals. Guitar riffs, plenty of good ideas with equalization can provoke nightmares to your neighbors. Homage track they do to their land mates is “Warriors Of Death” which sounds more chaotic and visceral than the original one. As these tracks were recorded live, we hear some deficiencies, but it shows very well the job done. We wait with tension for their debut album.
