Inharmonic - Flesh Inferno

Hailing from Finland, Inharmonic like their mid-90’s US death metal, especially with influences such as early 00’s Deicide being so prominent, vocally and musically with 00’s death metal also coming through like that of some Polish bands a-la Decapitated and some Vader on the latter three tracks. The sound perhaps could do with more bite or bass as there is a clattering sound in some parts of ‘Consume All’ for example, but I cannot grumble at the choice of arrangement, it’s all technical and water tight. There’s more pigs here too, like their first independent release and each track has a difference theme.

‘Pigwaste’ hits hard, this stands out most for me, there is a thick and chunky groove to the start, before getting down to business with a style that everyone associates with European death metal. The US influence I mentioned earlier is taken out of the equation somewhat on this track that really came from the guitar tone. Technically the release handles itself immensely, I think some of the solo work is great and the general battalion of the rhythm section keeping things moving along very nicely, but, I don’t find that much remarkable about the release as its been done all over scene a good few years ago.

So what more to say, it’s as expected for a band trading in such a field, but it is good to hear a band that can pull a track together and provide variation between said tracks on their releases, a big plus point for Inharmonic but there is a fine line between variation and inconsistency, this is close to the mark.
