Innerhate - Digital Embryonic Selection

Colombia strikes again. The country already spew out sick and extreme bands like Internal Suffering, Purulent, Amputated Genitals or Suppuration. Innerhate is no exception. What we have here is another interesting Death / Grind act hailing from the depths of South America. “Digital Embryonic Selection” is the follow-up to the bands debut release “Synthetic Umbilical Supremacy” which saw the light of day back in 2006. As already mentioned, this four piece delivers a real whirlwind of underground brutality. Clocking in at 44 minutes, this album rampages right from the start and takes no prisoners. Innerhate´s music can be described as a violent cocktail of Death Metal with occasional Grindcore excursions. Ranging from high speed blasting to some more mid-tempo or “normal” pace based parts with aggressive but intricate string work, “Digital Embryonic Selection” offers interesting contents for every underground lunatic. One may consider the guitar parts too progressive and I honestly have to say that some riffs are completely weird and over the top. Definitely no easy listening in here and (believe it or not) I´m sure this wasn´t the bands aim J The guy on the microphone maltreats his vocal chords with dark growled lyrics about cloning, mechanical stuff, etc. as well as some more hoarse sounding shouting. In my opinion the dark vocals fit Innerhate´s style better, but that´s of course open to dispute. Everything on “Digital Embryonic Selection” is wrapped in an appropriate recording quality to make sure this assault on your sense of hearing will leave a lasting impact. The result is an indigestive clump of underground insanity which is suitable for every technical Death Metal supporter or those who dare to check the band out.
