KHNVM - Foretold Monuments Of Flesh
KHNVM or Khoo-Num, a 2 men operation from Germany and Bangladesh have recorded their debut "Foretold Monuments Of Flesh". The beast was released on 29th March 2019 on CD (limited, hand numbered digipack), LP (limited silver vinyl & black vinyl) and in digital versions. Have to say that my first impression considering the artwork of the album and the name of the band is black metal. Well I was a bit wrong, it’s a high level of old school death metal with some (small) twists of black (Satyricon and Immortal says my inner ear). This debut album was mixed and mastered by Tastemaker Audio (USA) and features a guest appearance by James Coppolino (Abysmal Dawn) on drums for the song 'Sic Mundus Creatus Est'. What I really like besides that it’s a great song, is the fact that you don’t hear that in the sound of the drum track. Off course, both drummers used the same kit and triggers or other theories, though I find it quite a good job.
The sound of the guitar from Obliterator is really warm and his solos very nice. Also his voice is almost creepy, awesome. Great riffs guided with blast beats, fills and well, just that old school drum pattern you want to hear if your listening to this style of music. Practice what you preach I read on their page and that is exactly what they do. The tracks are growing to me the more I listen to it. The title track, 'Sic Mundus Creatus Est' and 'Profaning The Ancient Rites' are favorite. Still every song is worth listening and won’t bore you!
I think a great album has been delivered here and if you are a fan of old school death than I can assure you that you can buy this album blindfolded. Good luck and a lot of support to these guys. Cheers!
