Masticator - Internal Inversion
Masticator hail from sunny Florida and to these ears have really captured the essence of the "florida" sound. Musically these guys sound of all the ol death metal favourites - Deicide, Cannibal Corpse perhaps a little Death, Obituary and Morbid Angel in there for measure. I got to say its executed to a high standard. The playing is great on this recording however it is a little rough around the edges but i think thats what gives this recording its charm. The drums sound absolutely cracking on this however the guitars sound is abit thin. But these guys are young and have a fuck load of potential.
Give these guys a good production and perhaps these guys will be writing the next classic albums we will be listening to in years to come. Who knows!? its a little hard to say. But meanwhile the songs on this are simple brilliant. They really capture the spirit of the early 90s so well. The songs are catchy, unrelenting and unlike most newer bands have absolutely no breakdowns/slam whatsoever. Strictly early 90s here.The drums are packed with blastbeats and double bass whilst the bass chugs nicely in the background complimenting the overall sound. The only thing that lets this down is the thin guitar sound but dont that put you off folks. The tunes are fuckin` good here so enjoy!! I look forward to hearing from these guys sooner rather than later.
