Mort Douce - Promo 2013

This is old school death metal from Poland in the vein of Grave, Asphyx and more abosure influences like some of the early UK death metal pioneers. This is released only on tape to a mere 50 hand numbered copies, so act fast…you need to…you need this! The two tracks themselves are taken from the upcoming ‘The Valley Of Blood And Death’ MCD soon to be released by Wydawnictwo Muzyczne Psycho, but before this happens I advise this tape for starters.

Ok, so put this in perspective, a lot of bands are claiming “old school” and recording digitally etc, a lot of bands are claiming to be in tune with the old days and clearly live another life outside of the media interest. However Mort Douce are so underground I cannot find any website apart from their label to find out anything about them, ok you get an email, but other than that you have to do some god old fashioned hard work and research, thus as I always found making the music more rewarding and worthwhile than something you can instantly get a hold of online.

Musically you know what you will get. Mort Douce give a genuine death metal delivery that is up there with recent upstarts like Lifeless, Entrails and Skeletal Remains to name but a few. However, these Poles have something different, a raw energy, like Morbid (Swe) and a metal heritage that is a little more far reaching than merely typifying the band as another old school swedeath machine. Listen to the drum fill before the solo of ‘Hemophobical Fear’, if that is not a nice tribute to Clive Burr and ‘Running Free’ then I don’t know what is. The art is the way it and other influences are merged and arranged in such a way you can genuinely go wow. This is a band to watch out for.
