My Own Grave - Necrology

My Own Graves story started back in 2001 with the release of a demo entitled “New Path / Same Path”, which was followed by 3 more demos offered between 2002 and 2004. The bands first full length album “Unleash” saw the light of day in 2006 and an EP called “Unholy” was released one year later. “Necrology” is the bands next sign of life and these dudes definitely don´t take any prisoners. This is bludgeoning and skull-splitting straight forward Death Metal without any compromise, except for some blackened guitar leads and very few Thrash Metal orientated tunes. The great production was handled by mastermind Dan Swanö and contributes its part to this dark Swedish bastard. “Necrology” is an assault of furious musical eruptions in the vein of Demonical, Absorbed or similar purveyors of deadly extremity. My Own Grave combines unrelenting drum work, varied down tuned and razor-sharp riffing and reminiscences of various old school Death Metal highlights to an impressive and gruff piece of brutality that hits you right were it hurts. Lyrics about darkness and death as well as the powerful song writing including various tempo changes and a nice cover artwork round out the program. Pulverised Records from Singapore seem to have the right touch for some great underground bands and I´m sure My Own Grave is an act to be reckoned with in the future. “Necrology” left me in jubilation and I can´t help but rating this album with top grades. Well done, guys.
