Nervecide - Impermanence

This is an Italian one man project from Giorgio Benedetti and this is extreme brutal/technical death metal with a touch of ambient and grind thrown in for good measure. When you hear an album with less than organic drums sounds, I certainly feel less fulfilled, in this case the violent nature of the music means that these are actually passible on the whole. The guitar sound is cool, the chaotic vocals are decipherable and precise over the whole album mix which is the releases most redeeming factor and to top it all, this baby is available for free download so you can grab a copy with relative ease.

Musically, ‘Flashover’ has some nice guitar licks that are previously supported by a bombardment of expressive technical death metal. The nearest in violence I gain comparison too is Hate Eternal’s offerings, although fellow countrymen Fleshgod Apocalypse would not be out of touch as a main or support slot to this project. Whilst not totally similar, I must stress I put these as mere comparisons to the style and delivery. You won’t mind the warmer sounds of those bands mentioned, but you will get a similar lesson in violence alone.

As an album, I would be hard pushed to become overly excited about this release, to me it sounds good technically but listening to this will depend upon your love for this genre. It is very over active! Not a bad start, hopefully on the next effort will include some warmth from the studio as this is my only niggle with this one as it comes across as being frequently dank and sparse in terms of acoustics and feeling, but on the technical side, I cannot fault it.To decide yourself, click the buy button and download it for FREE!
