New Blood - Paradise Disintegrates
Ya don't really hear of much Death metal coming outta Australia barre bands like Berzerker and Ya don't really hear of much Death metal coming outta Australia barre bands like Berzerker and Bloodduster. However New Blood are another band to add to that shortlist. First things first, the production on this is horrible. There is no real clarity in anything. Throughout the whole recording, instruments get lost and the whole thing becomes boarderline inaudible. If this were a demo I would have forgiven them for it but this is out on a label for anyone to buy.
But however it isn't and I have to review it like that so. The songs are completely unmemorable and seem to follow no real structure. The whole thing sounds if it were recorded in a garden shed. On a plus note, I did quite like the vocals. They are very deep and gurgly ala Devourment. Unfortunately, to these ears, this is the only positive thing I can say.
The best song on this is "Vile Disfigurement" as it seems to have a few chuggy breakdowns enough to get a slight nod of the head. I really do hope these guys are one of those bands that don't record well but are lethal live. Because judging by this, it's back to the drawing board. Things can only get better, right?!
