Outre - Tranquility
All too many times bands either melt your face off or drag out the intro track so far you've already skipped to the second song. "Of Drowning" pulls you in at a moderate rate while basking you in its wonderful dissonance. While this band is deep seated in black metal there are strong hardcore influences. Although not over done but yet adding it's own uniqueness with the vocal attack and some slower drum sections. This record has raw vocals paired with melodic harmonies and an array of dynamic drum parts. "Sea Of Mercury" is more crusty grind mixed with ripping tremolo and sweet melodies. Building up and breaking down in a non conventional way. This song also has a couple epic guitar solos that really hits the spot. "Hear The Voice" sets you to sail away back to your dull, boring and medicore lives. But not without an amazing saxophone solo at the end that really hits your sweet spot. Nothing has got more soul than a jazz saxophonist and oh yea... Outre.
Believe it or not this release is independent/self-released and I can't imagine an underground label not picking them up for their next release. You'll be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't listen to this immediately.
