Pelvic Meatloaf -Stronger Than You

Now, I just have to be open and honest with you all here, when I first saw the name of the band that I was about to listen to for a review I was a little off put and rather, uncharacteristiclly, full of skepticism. For, I thought, a band with a name like Pelvic Meatloaf just has to be some sort of an elaborate joke, where they can't possibly take any of this stuff serious, or that this album here just has to be chock full of some sort of perverted, juvenile humor. Yet, once I finally listened to and experienced it, I was wrong, way, way wrong.

For what I found coming through my speakers once I finally started listening to their newest album, "Stronger Than You," is a very serious and engaged band of gentlemen who know just how to throw down some solid, headbanging, fist raising, groove filled metal. Then after doing some research I came to find that these gents started out in 1990, released a couple of albums and then just kind of up and vanished. That is until now, now they have returned to pick up right where they left off, producing and releasing some crushing, body moving and relevant metal that not only feels nostalgic but also current. For Pelvic Meatloaf are able to cross both of those lines without even trying, all while still writing and recording music that just absolutly slays.

I'm sure that all of us have heard the old adage "Don't judge a book by it's cover" from time to time, well, I would also like to add another; "Dont judge a band by their name." For I, myself, have been guilty of this sin many a times over, even with the mighty Pelvic Meatloaf here and have been proven undeniably and extremely wrong. So do yourself a favor and go check out this band post haste, for they are like a mix between the best parts Pantera and S.O.D. with the modern production sound of Slipknot. In conclusion, Pelvic Meatloaf's "Stronger Than You" is truly a groovin', rocking and crushing good time to be had by all, seriously, check em out.
