Planar Evil - Mankind Way Of Life
Another thrash metal band, and this time we move on the Europe map to Italy, a land that has given lots of great musicians. These guys are high lighting because of a great execution of the denominated “thrash gang metal” and certainly they do it with great influence of American’s style. The CD has 12 tracks of which the first half are new and second part are the re-recorded versions of the demo “Land Of Doom” (2002). The crossover and hard core are common resources at their style. The production is very clean and balanced as almost everything recorded at this country. Influence of Metallica is over both guitarists (just hear the solos in “Run Away”) but we find also influence elements of giants like Exodus or Sacred Reich. Experimentation was also welcomed at the beginning of “Stabs In The Back”, which are sticky and well done riffs would make move everyone’s head. Second half of the CD, corresponding the re-recordings, seems to have more raw and visceral compositions. After a short intro, “Land Of Doom” opens the fight and we remember the singular style “Bay Area” immediately. Full speed continues with “In Front This Storm”, that drives you to dive from the stage. My favorite is “Welcome To Transilvania…” which ends the productions with a very good proposal of terror metal. Sinister riffs, kind of a bewitched house are done everywhere, but here we find uncommonly well done ones. Remember a band called RIPPER? (No, not the ex Judas Priest). Certainly, this is a very good independent production.
