Promiscuity - Infernal Rock N' Roll

One may not like Israel-based Promiscuity for their production value- expect their first demo to be raw and uncompromising, just like their black metal side. However, the band incorporates a lot of decent groove within this three brief tracks to offer a fair mix of speed and heavy metal as well. Tracks like "Gai Ben Hinnom" chug away with just the right amount of rhythm mixed with black metal styled snarls and a distorted atmosphere versus "Infernal Rock N' Roll" which is much heavier and just tends to feel a bit one sided on the riffs and drumming... at least until the solo pops up and injects a bit more than just mediocrity into the music. "Crime and Punishment" features a good bass intro and them enfolds into something that is more black rock n' roll styled, offering the most balanced track on the album while still retaining a ferocious nature. By far, fans will note that vocals stand out amongst everything else, but the guitars come in pretty close as second. This demo is a good start; hopefully future works will have expanded tracks and more groove and rhythm injected into them so the group can flesh out more of their speed metal style along with the black metal part, as they do on "Crime..."
